When did you first hear Aerosmith?
I first heard of Aerosmith back in 1974 when I was 14 years old. I was listening to the radio and they played “Dream On”. I was immediately hooked on this hard rocking-bluesy type of music. After that, I got their first album and played it at a party. From that time on, they became the music of choice with all of my friends.
What’s your favorite Aerosmith song?
While I love all the music, my favorite song is “Big Ten Inch” for its bluesy-party rock. If I am ever down or in bad mood, this song can immediately raise my spirits.
Tell us about your most memorable Aerosmith moment.
My most memorable moment was when I was 15 and went to my first concert. The ticket cost all of $12.00 back then and it was in the Philadelphia Spectrum. It was a GA concert and my friends and I entered the floor at the back of the arena. I was never one for taking the “back seat”, so I left my friends worked around the crowd and made my way up to the front of the stage right in front of Joe Perry and I could look right into his eyes. Later that night, I was reunited with my friends and they told me they could see me through the bincolars right up at the front of the stage. It was such a blast.
Give us your funniest Aerosmith story.
My funniest story is when my friends and I were in my bedroom with an album playing so loud we couldn’t hear anything else. We were always fooling around and playing the air band routine. I looked up and saw my mom and dad were standing at my door jsut watching us rock out with this grins on their face. We all just burst into laughter, after turning the music down.
Give us your favorite Aerosmith lyric or quote (one liner).
Life is a journey, not a destination. I love this quote because it leaves room for hope for a better future.
Tell us about yourself…
My name is Gail and I am 48 years old. Happily married and the mother of two and a grandmother two. I grew up in Delaware and spent a great deal of time attending concerts in Philly at the Spectrum and the Civic Center. I am the supervisor of a women’s center specializing in mammography. I absolutely love this work. It gives me a sense of fulfillment. I love rock music especially Aerosmith.
