When did you first hear Aerosmith?
I first heard of Aerosmith in Jr. High when “Toys” came out. All the “guys” were wild about it.
What’s your favorite Aerosmith song?
I know you want my favorite Aerosmith song, but it’s going to have to be more than one: “RagDoll”(for my 131/2 year old daughter), “Dream On”(for my 16 ½ year old son) and as for me: “Dude”, Sweet Emotion”, “No More. No More”, “Permanent Vacation” and “Angel” and Joe Perry’s “Ten Years” for my husband, but I could definitely go on….
Tell us about your most memorable Aerosmith moment.
My most memorable Aerosmith moment was when my kids and I became hardcore Aerosmith fans. We are a Disney family and travel to Walt Disney World quite a bit, and when we hit Rock ‘N’ Rollercoaster for the first and blasted off at 60m.p.h. to “Dude” – we were hooked!
Give us your favorite Aerosmith lyric or quote (one liner).
I actually have two favorite quotes that come to mind, so please indulge me:“Bye”…with airplane buzzing in the background from “Permanent Vacation” and “When you’re sh-t outta luck, There’s just one thing to do and that’s, Walk on down…..”
Tell us about yourself…
My name is Mimi and I am a 47 year old wife and mother of two wonderful teenagers, both of whom are hooked on Aerosmith also. My daughter wrote an honors music paper on Joe Perry as her inspiration – she plays trumpet in her middle school bands and electric guitar. My son is lead guitar player in his rock band and an accomplished trombone player for his High School Marching, Jazz and Concert Bands.
I have been married to my husband (and best friend) for almost 22 years. He unfortunately does not share my Aero-enthusiasm!! I think it is our only point of contention as my car is stocked with Aerosmith c.d’s and decals!! I love to cook so when my husband is hearing too much Aero-information, a good meal usually smoothes things over! My greatest accomplishment aside from my loving family is that I am a 4 – year survivor of ovarian cancer and keep fighting it every year. The music of Aerosmith definitely keeps me sane when things get rough and has helped pull me through some very low points – NOW I’VE GOT TO SEE A SHOW!!!
Your favorite way to relax...
My favorite way to relax is to take a run while listening to my Aerosmith songs at full blast on my I-pod. OR… lying on a beach in the Caribbean with my husband and my children.
Your favorite breakfast...
My favorite breakfast is local “island” French bread, Dutch Gouda cheese and strong coffee overlooking the Caribbean.
Your words of wisdom...
My words of wisdom are more whimsical than intense and echo Aerosmith: “Shut Up and Dance!”
