Story: I feel that I should be voted the most deserving fan and hope that you all agree.

From the time I was in Kindergarten and I heard Aerosmith on the radio, I immediately started grooving to the beet and couldn’t stop thinking about my favorite band. For my 7th birthday, I got my first CD, which was their 1980’s Greatest Hits. I coveted that CD and just couldn’t get enough. Steven Tyler and Joe Perry became my idols. I got a guitar for my 8th birthday, with hopes of one day being asked to play in their band (Hahaha, any kid can dream right?). Well, I found out I wasn’t very musically talented but that didn’t stop me from rocking out and idolizing the Toxic Twins.

In middle school, I had a close cousin who had a rough time with drugs and alcohol and needed to stop. I knew that my idols had also had their share of addiction, but had gotten clean and still rocked and rolled. I told my cousin their story and helped convince him to get help. I gave him all my Aerosmith CD’s to help him through rehab, and what do you know he has been clean for 12 years.

I am now a senior in college here in Minnesota and finally get the chance to see my boys rock! HOWEVER, college loans are kicking my butt and will continue to do so for quite some time. That being said, I have worked overtime and odd hours all summer just to afford nosebleeds to see my childhood idols rock.

It’s everyone’s dream to meet their idols and tell them “thank you” for all they have done. My boys have gotten me through some tough times and have taught me to Dream On and rock every day like it’s my last. I would love nothing more than to be the most deserving fan. It would make my next decade of paying off college loans ALL worthwhile! Thanks and Dream On!
