Since the store stocks the sauce and has been selling quite a few bottles, Joe decided that the time was right to make the 45 minute trek to the store in Cambridge Mass (right on the banks of the Charles River) and press the flesh face to face. The lines started forming when the store opened at 10 AM. By the time Joe got there at the scheduled time of 7:00 PM, the line was out the door and down the street. The rules were - you had to buy a bottle of hot sauce and have only that bottle signed - but after the first person whipped out a copy of "I've Got the Rock 'N' Rolls Again" Joe threw that rule right out the window. He elected to stand the whole time he was there at the store, which turned out to be over 4 hours. Signing everything that was put in front of him and making sure he personalized every bottle of the Boneyard Brew.
He also took time to do a few television interviews for various local Boston affiliate stations. The questions ran from "Why did you get into the hot sauce business?" to "What's the progress of the new album?" He seemed pumped about progress of the new album and can't wait to hit the road with KISS this summer. Some of you may remember Joe played on Gene Simmons' solo album in 1978. He played on a song called "Radioactive" and a couple of other tunes.
After the event was over, Joe did a little shopping in the store and got to check out how his proteges, "The Porch Ghouls'" record was doing. It was released on Tuesday and is getting great reviews from members of the music industry. Personally I feel that it's a mix between Muddy Waters and the Clash.
There is talk of more in-store visits down the road but Joe wants to concentrate on the next Aerosmith record with as little distraction as possible.
See You On the road.
