Hey folks, Happy New Year and all that good stuff. I feel I must bring some closure to the reports from the road - as I didn't include the last week of the tour: Penn State: It was a good show but it was the limpest audience I have ever seen. I saw people doing their homework in their seats before and after Andrew W.K.'s set.
Philly: Now that's a rock and roll town. Philly's great! The crowd was great. The band was cookin'. You could almost sense the end of the tour was near though. Crew members exchanging gifts and getting their marching orders for their return trips home and stuff like that. Shout out to Ray Tabano for busting my balls!
Washington: Home away from home. MCI Center was rockin'. MTV was there to tape a segment for "Ultra Sound" with Steven's daughter, Mia and Joe's son, Tony. It will be on this weekend. It's about rock stars kids. Joe and Steven were also interviewed. Russ Irwin's gal pal Rosanna Arquette was at the DC show as she was in Philly. Vincent "Big Pussy" Pastore was also there with his buddy Jack Douglas. Jack, as you all know, is the world famous producer (Aerosmith, John Lennon, Cheap Trick), was on hand to dig the vibe of the live show. Jack must have been to about 25 shows this tour.
With the guys scattered across the country there hasn't been much to report the past 2 weeks except that February, '03 looks to be quite busy. The guys have several irons in the fire. The band may grace some stages but… it's still in the developmental phase. How's that for vague? Looks like the guys will head out again this summer, which is no surprise. Who with and for how long to be determined, though.
