This contest has ended and the winner has been chosen. Thanks to all who entered and shared their rockin' World Tour 2007 stories.
Congratulations to Michelle Yannone who traveled to Germany with her sister to see Aerosmith and catch up with some relatives they hadn't seen in more than two decades. Check out Michelle's winning story:
When Aerosmith announced their European World Tour and one of the destinations was Frankfurt Germany, my sister and I new that would be our trip of a life time. My family is from Germany and it had been 23 years since we have seen our relatives. What could be better than rockin out with Aerosmith and catching up with cousins, Aunts and Uncles that we haven't seen in over two decades? Need I say more? It was a no brainer! We bought our flight and show tickets for June 10, in Butzbach, Frankfurt. I contacted the Magistrates office because I was having problems getting a hotel room in Butzbach. The Hessentag Festival literally draws thousands of people and the rooms were all booked. My new friend Rita from the Magistrates Office took care of us and got us in a very nice hotel right in the center of the city. We saw Rita again before we left and she gave my sister and I each an Aerosmith poster from the Hessentag Festival. It is awesome! I still stay in contact with her. We flew in the day before the concert. I made a really cool poster to let the Boyz know that we flew from the states to see them. It was probably 100 degrees that day and when we got to the arena we realized that we had left the poster at the hotel. I tried to talk a motorcycle cop into driving me back to the hotel to get my poster. He just laughed at me but was very nice at the same time. So we did the next best thing, went to a stand and bought some yummy German Bratwurst and tasty Bier to wash it down with. Fan club members were to meet at the Alligator trailer for early access because it was a GA show. We met Amanda who was such a sweetheart and we took our picture with her (boy would I like to have her job). Club members were escorted into the Hessentag Arena where my sister and I took our positions on the side of the catwalk. We partied through two bands waiting for our Boyz to come on. It started to rain but we were prepared with long sleeve shirts and umbrellas as the temperature started to drop. The show was absolutely AMAZING. Aerosmith rocked the house! Joe Perry tried to say something in German and completely butchered it. It was pretty funny. Steven was all over the place. After the show we met some people and wound up bar hopping in Butzbach. We had a blast but didn't feel that great the next day when we had to catch a train at 6:30 in the morning to Frankfurt to take a cruise on the Rhine River. The Rhine cruise was awesome even with a mild hangover. The scenic view of the castles along the river was really cool. We left Butzbach to meet up with our relatives in Trier, Germany. It was very emotional and heartfelt. After spending time with them we headed to Paris for two days which was breathtaking. When we came back from Paris we stayed a few more days and then had to say our goodbyes. Again, it was very emotional. While we were on the plane heading back to the US my sister and I just looked at each other in disbelief of all we had done and seen while we were there, not to mention seeing Aerosmith in concert. This trip really rocked our world! We saw the Boyz again in September in Bristow, Va. My good friend Lindadarlin and her sister Elaine, along with my sister Marion and I, created another memorable Aero weekend. I looked forward to the next show. Bring it on Boyz!
