'Twas the Night Before an Aerosmith Concert and all through the house;
Tomgirl gleeful with anticipation was driving everyone crazy, especially her spouse.
Her concert clothes were hung by the chimmney with care
In hopes that tomorrow's concert would soon be here.
While other fans were nestled in their beds,
Tomgirl had visions of Aerosmith dancing in her head;
Steven with his scarves and Joe in his cap,
and Brad, Joey and Tom with his big bottom bass;
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
Tomgirl sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window she flew like a flash,
Tore open the curtains and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When what to her wondering eyes should appear,
But a black stretch limo with the band she held so dear.
They were dressed in their finest, so lively and slick,
She knew in a moment that she was one lucky chick.
One by one out of the limo they came,
Tom and Joey whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
"Now Mama Kin! now LOTT! now, Cheesecake and Sweet Emotion
On, Last Child! on Seasons! and Rats! are sure to cause a commotion.
From the end of the catwalk to the top of the venue walls,
At tomorrow night's concert, you will hear them all!
Now back in the limo as it was time to leave,
Was Tomgirl dreaming, this was just so hard to believe.
Back in her house she sat dazed and confused,
But deep down, part of her knew it to be true.
And then, in a twinkling, she heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of Joe's cowboy boots?
She drew her hand to her mouth and when she turned around,
Down the chimney Steven Tyler came with a bound.
He was dressed in leopard print fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were immaculate in spite of the ashes and soot;
A message for Tomgirl he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were so "Pink" like the bing on a cherry!
He said, "Tomorrow there will be a surprise for you.
Just come back stage after the concert is through."
Tomorrow's here, at the concert on her feet, Tomgirl watches in awe the DTL Joe Perry guitar beat (down),
as she knows this will end her long wait.
Backstage she goes, one of Aerosmith's biggest fans,
When out from the shadows long, lean and tan,
walks Mr. Sweet Emotion, Tom Hamilton her favorite member of the band.
With a wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave her to know she had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
He grabbed pen and paper and wrote down these words,
"Make sure you're home tomorrow, you're the winner of my call."
Tomgirl nodded her head with excitement, from the thought of it all.
Tom left the room, to his team gave a whistle,
And away in their plane they all flew like a down of a thistle.
She heard them exclaim, ere-they flew out of sight,
"Happy Aero Concerts to All, and to All a Rockin' Night".
Happy Holidays, Happy New Year, and most important, Happy Birthday to Tom Hamiltion, Mr. Sweet Emotion!
Our 2nd Place Winner is Robin Burger:
This really is just a wonderful Christmas story. This is the the best Christmas I've had in many years. Besides all my cards we exchange on the board and my Secret Santa gift. My neighbor who I've know for 5 years has been alone for Christmas as I for many years. When he comes upstairs to visit, he would look at all my cards and gifts from my Secret Santa and it he gets sad because he's alone like I am. But I have all the people on the Aerosmith board as my family.
This year I finally wanted to see him happy for the holidays, so I called upon my Aerosmith family. They have been there through thick and thin for me. I explained about my neighbor and how good he was to me after I had my surgery and really how we try to look out for each other. And how he's alone, and he doesn't receive Christmas cards. I wrote that I hope I wasn't asking to much. But would it be asking to much if maybe a few people sent him a card.
Well, not that I was really surprised the requests for his address came flooding in. The cards started coming and he reads each one and then tapes them to his wall. I don't think I've ever in the time I've know him to be this happy. He's like a little kid waiting for the mail man everyday.... He's even received a few packages!!!! He's thrilled with everything and told me he's never received more than maybe 4 cards a year. And this year his wall is starting to get covered and I know there's more to come.
This is the first year for me not feeling sorry for myself that I'm alone. I know as long as I have my Aerosmith family I'll never be alone. They are the most giving, loving and caring bunch of people you would want to meet. Sure we get into it once in awhile but what family doesn't. So anyway, I don't know if this will make it into the contest, but to me it's the best Christmas story yet.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year

Our 3rd Place Winner is Lexy Schlemer:
The entry you are about to see sets the scene of an ALL OUT AEROSMITH CHRISTMAS. The tree is decked with different scarves for garland, Aerosmith albums as ornaments, the "Get Your Wings" logo for the tree topper, leopard tree skirt with presents that have to do
with Aerosmith songs and the Aerosmith members. The robot girl from the "Just Push Play" album is decked in red for the Ms. Claus look with her bag of goodies for the Boston Boys. The mantle holds five animal print stockings, one for each member. The picture above the stockings is the "Draw the Line" album picture. The walls are inspired by Mr. Tyler's wordrobe. The elevator is the entrance into the room. This piece is made of mixed media, paper, paint, fabric, marker, you name it. Hope that you enjoy my aero-inspired christmas picture.
